The most fun you can have for a dime

Well, forgot to mention that I'm up in Branson this week enjoying some Mom & Dad time. So blogging will be a little catch as catch can.

But here's today's catch: The horsey ride outside Dick's 5 & Time in Branson. And the sign above the horsey.
I'm torn between "I don't really want to think about why that's there" and "I would have paid good money to see what made them think the sign was needed."

It just means that YOU can ride! Yay! (I'm sure some big cowboy-type dude decided to jump on one day and nearly broke it).

The little boy that was riding when we walked up was just grinning from ear to ear. Remember how much fun that was?

I used to ride those suckers without my parents even putting money in. I'd hang out on the horse outside while they shopped inside.

I took a walk at lunch today past an elementary school. Those lucky kids were having a blast running around the playground during recess. I miss recess.

The Piggly Wiggly in Shawnee OK used to have a ride that was a whole quarter. But it was a mini Ferris wheel. At the time it seemed like it went 10 feet in the air. But I'd guess it was probably only 4 or 5. Still. Incredibly cool.

I've almost decided I'm going to lie and say I've started smoking so that I get a break during the work day. It'd be like recess. Maybe I could get a pick up game of tag or four-square going on the patio.
