You know why it rained today?
Because the weatherman said it would.
And I said, that's what you've been saying for
THE LAST 4 DAYS so

See if you HAd carried that brella you'd have had NO rain - doncha know that is how it works?
Yeah. If I hadn't been so busy being sassy mouthed and rebellious and saying "suck it" and stuff, I'd have remembered that salient point. Happens to me a lot.
This is why I hang onto my old wooden crutches I used decades ago when I sprained my knee: so I will never need them again. I know as soon as I throw them out, I'll do something and will need them! Knock on wood---it has worked so far.
My Mom keeps her old crutches too. But it's so that she can whip them out at a moment's notice when somebody sprains their ankle. It's like a magic trick. She does this with all sorts of stuff - golf shoes, cake decorating equipment, crouquet set. What you need a kerosene lamp? Ta da! She can lay her hands on all sorts of stuff at a moment's notice. If Monty Hall had ever asked her if she had a blue thimble in her purse, he'd have had to give her whatever was behind Door Number Three.
Thank you for sending some of your rain our way! It just doesn't rain in the summer here, so it was quite welcome. We even had some thunder and lightning during the night which is unusual for us.
Maybe you could not carry an umbrella for awhile.
[she blushes modestly]
You're welcome.
